Being Put into Action

As a group we contacted all of the key stakeholders associated with our bill on Food Deserts. We received no reply from any of the politicians and our bill continues to be left in Rules. We firmly believe that this bill will not get passed without serious additions and revisions, some of which are stated in our political action plan.

If additions were made to the bill stating exactly where the money would come from and how it would be used, this bill would be easily supported but until the additions are made no further progress can be made.

We think this is a really great idea that could greatly benefit underserved communities in our State. The benefits of a healthy diet being affordable and available are invaluable to the health status of these communities. We hope that our opinions of additions will be taken into consideration and that this bill will eventually be passed leading towards a healthy America.
